Particulars:

The successful candidate will retain a 1.0 FTE (100%) permanent position as the Divisional Literacy Coach, to be based out of a BLSD Divisional Office. This permanent position will commence January 6, 2025.  The successful candidate’s main responsibility is to support teachers in their implementation of the Reading Apprenticeship framework and engage in work that supports literacy disciplinary in BLSD.  Additional duties include, but are not limited to planning and leading professional development, co-teaching, mentorship, providing leadership for the literacy committee, supporting middle & senior years teachers to implement the Reading Apprenticeship framework across the curriculum, supporting Performance-Based Reading Assessment, and resource development. Background and experience in middle & senior years disciplinary literacy across the curriculum is essential for this position.  The ability to collaborate with, mentor and lead BLSD colleagues is critical.  This position will be open for applications until filled. 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  1.  Must hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
  2.  Preference will be given to a teacher with related teaching experience


Salary and Benefits:

The compensation package for this position is in accordance with the collective agreement between Border Land School Division and the Border Land Teachers’ Association of the Manitoba Teachers’ Society.
