Safe Schools

Policy 17 – Safe Schools

In accordance with the legislative changes accompanying the Safe Schools Charter of Manitoba, the Border Land Board is committed to working in effective collaboration with all of its education partners to ensure and enhance the safety of the Border Land schools and school communities.

The Superintendent/CEO must:

17.1     Ensure that each Principal, in consultation with the Parent Advisory Council or its equivalent at that school, will establish a code of conduct for pupils and staff.

  1. Ensure that each Principal, in consultation with the Parent Advisory Council or its equivalent at that school, will establish an emergency response plan for the school.
  2. Ensure that each school's code of conduct and emergency response plan are reviewed at least annually.

 

In addition to the above, the Superintendent/CEO must ensure that the Division and each school has a threat assessment protocol which is reviewed annually.
